Red Moon Rising is a young Australian Performance company committed to
creating bold, image-based works of dance-theatre and passionate about finding
ways for Butoh to speak to contemporary Australian audiences.

With a personal history of collaboration and art making, Jeremy Neideck, Ellen Rijs and Polly Sara initially formed Red Moon Rising in 2008 after travelling to Japan to study with seminal Butoh company, Dairakudakan as well as Semimaru, a senior dancer with Sankai Juku.

Their debut production Sketches Of Blood, premiered at the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival, and in 2010 was nominated for 'Best Dance' at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Red Moon Rising's newest work, The Oak's Bride was presented in Melbourne at The Donkey Wheel House as part of the 2010 Next Wave Festival. This production was supported by the Australia Council for the Arts through the New Work, Young Artist Initiative.
